HOW TO BOOK A CANYONING / CLIMBING OR ADVENTURE OUTING?

It's very simple! You can reach us by phone or WhatsApp at +33 6 75 24 93 40 or via email at contact@lesgeckos.fr. You’ll be able to talk to the person in charge of reservations, who will recommend the most suitable outing for you. To help us give you the best advice, we’ll need:

  • Your name for the booking
  • The number and ages of the participants
  • The fitness level of the participants (never exercise, occasionally active, or very athletic)
  • If anyone has previously done a similar activity
  • Your accommodation address
  • An email address and a phone number.

When booking, we will agree on the time that suits you best. Then, we will meet directly at the activity site. Each location is carefully chosen to provide you with the best possible experience in a safe and friendly environment.

Before embarking on an adventure with LesGeckos, it's important to know what equipment you'll need to bring and what will be provided to ensure a safe and enjoyable experience. Here's a general overview, but we will provide you with all the details during your reservation. LesGeckos ensures you have the necessary technical and safety equipment for your adventure, while also recommending essential personal items to enhance your comfort and experience. Always check with us for any specific requirements related to the activity you've chosen.

  • Helmets: For canyoning, climbing, and rappelling activities.
  • Harnesses: Essential for canyoning, climbing, and rappelling.
  • Ropes and Carabiners: For safe rappelling and climbing.
  • Belay Devices: For controlled descents during rappelling.
  • Climbing Equipment: Additional gear required for climbing activities.

Orientation and Instruction:

  • Expert Guides: Knowledgeable and experienced in local terrain and safety protocols.
  • Training and Briefing: Instructions on how to use equipment and follow safety procedures.

Specialized Canyoning Equipment:

  • Waterproof Bags and Containers: For day trips.
  • Neoprene Wetsuits: To keep you comfortable during water activities.

First Aid:

  • First Aid Kits: Guides are equipped with first aid kits for minor injuries and emergencies.

TO BRING BASED ON ACTIVITIES

Clothing and Footwear:

  • Canyoning: A swimsuit, shorts or swim trunks, and a pair of sports shoes (they will get wet). We also rent sneakers on-site if that's more comfortable for you.
  • Climbing or Adventure: Comfortable hiking or sports clothes (moisture-wicking and quick-drying fabrics are best) and sports shoes.

Personal Items:

  • Backpack: To carry personal items, water, and snacks.
  • Water Bottles: Staying hydrated is essential.
  • Snacks/Energy Bars: To maintain energy levels during the adventure.
  • Sun Protection: Sunscreen and sunglasses.

Extras:

  • Camera/Smartphone: To capture memories (make sure it's protected for canyoning activities).
  • Personal First Aid Kit: For any personal medical needs.

We provide a range of activities tailored to different age groups and skill levels, ensuring that everyone, from beginners to seasoned adventurers, can enjoy a safe and comfortable outdoor experience. Here is an overview of the age and skill level requirements for each activity:

Canyoning

Age: Generally suitable for individuals aged 8 and over. Young children may be allowed to take less challenging routes. Skill Level: Beginners are welcome, but some routes may require moderate physical condition and comfort with heights. Guides provide instructions and support.

rock climbing

Age: Generally suitable for individuals aged 8 and over, depending on the difficulty of the climb. Skill Level: No prior experience is required for basic climbing activities. More challenging routes may require a higher skill level and better physical condition.

vertical adventure

Age: Suitable for all ages. Family-friendly hikes are available for young children and less experienced hikers. Skill Level: Ranges from easy to difficult. Easy trails are accessible to most people, while more challenging hikes require better physical condition and more experience.

To ensure a safe experience, we advise against participation for pregnant women.

If you can do without them during the activity, it’s safer, but if you need them, there are two options. You can either use a secure strap to prevent losing them, or take a hard case to protect them during each jump and slide (you can place this case in your suit).

Don't laugh, we’re often asked this question, and if you're asking it, you’ve probably come to the wrong site… Definitely no boats in canyoning; we walk down the river and tackle obstacles by rappelling, jumping, or sliding down waterfalls.

  1. Verdon Gorge: Although not directly located on the French Riviera, the Verdon Gorges are a must-visit site for canyoning. They offer rappel descents, jumps into water pools, and natural slides. The gorges are about a 2-hour drive from Nice.
  2. Roya Valley and Italy: This valley, located on the border between France and Italy, offers several interesting canyons for canyoning enthusiasts. The Maglia and Barbaira canyons are among the most popular.
  3. Estéron Valley: Located to the west of Nice, the Estéron Valley also provides great canyoning opportunities. The Riolan canyon is known for its clear waters and waterfalls.
  4. Vésubie Valley: The Vésubie Valley, located in the hinterland of Nice, is home to several canyons suitable for canyoning. The Riou de la Bollène canyon is one of the most famous, with its many jumps and slides.
  5. Tinée Valley: Also in the hinterland of Nice, the Tinée Valley offers interesting canyons for canyoning. The Cramassouri canyon is famous for its spectacular waterfalls and pools.
  6. Loup Valley and Gorges: Located in the hinterland of Cannes, Grasse, and Vence, this is the most renowned valley for canyoning beginners. Particularly known for the Gorges du Loup canyon, both spectacular and accessible. Definitely the best option to discover the activity of canyoning.

  2. La Turbie: Located near Nice, La Turbie is known for its limestone cliffs, ideal for climbing. The La Turbie site offers routes for all levels, with breathtaking views of the Mediterranean Sea.
  3. Saint Jeannet: This small village perched in the Alpes-Maritimes mountains is home to well-known climbing cliffs. The routes in Saint Jeannet are suitable for different climbing levels and offer a panoramic view of the coastline.
  4. Esterel: An exceptional setting where nature and adventure meet. With its fiery orange cliffs, stunning views of the Mediterranean Sea, and remarkable sites, Esterel offers a unique experience for climbers of all levels.
