These activities take place in natural environments that can sometimes be challenging and subject to weather conditions. Each participant moves through these environments according to their own abilities and under their own responsibility, and must take the necessary precautions to ensure safe practice.
FROM OUR BASE: THE FOULON TRAIL AT BRAMAFAN
THE FOULON CANAL
This hike is easy and covers 12 km.
The only condition: no fear of heights, as the trail often runs along steep cliffs with a 200-meter elevation drop.
The route crosses 22 tunnels, with openings offering magnificent views of the valley, and follows the Foulon Canal, inaugurated in 1889 to supply water to the city of Grasse and its perfume factories.
You will be able to see the famous Courmes waterfall, known as « The Petrifying One », as well as the Foulon Aqueduct.
PARADISE PATH: FROM BAR-SUR-LOUP TO GOURDON
This route, just over 8 km long (with a 552 m elevation gain), takes its name from a legend related to the village of Bar-sur-Loup.
As the village did not have a cemetery, its inhabitants had to bury their dead in the neighboring village of Gourdon, perched 800 meters above sea level.
To reach it, they had to carry the coffins on muleback along a steep path with a 500-meter elevation gain, which led the villagers to say they were taking the dead « as close to paradise as possible. »
The trail follows this legendary route amidst nearly vertical and impressive cliffs.
It requires proper equipment (good hiking shoes, a hat, and a flashlight for the tunnel crossings).
Along the way, you’ll discover the Loup Canal, the Foulon Aqueduct, and eventually reach the village of Gourdon, “one of the most beautiful villages in France,” also known as the Balcony of the French Riviera.
From this medieval fortress perched on a rocky spur, you’ll enjoy an exceptional panoramic view of the entire coastline, from Théoule-sur-Mer to Nice.
Gourdon also offers many artisan shops and monuments to visit: the Saint-Vincent Church, the feudal castle, and its gardens designed by Le Nôtre.
CAVILLORE PLATEAU
The Cavillore Plateau, rich in history, particularly attracts attention with its ancient ruins. Here, you’ll find a Roman road with a straight path, oppida such as those at Thoronet and Colle Basse, the former Saint-Vincent priory, and a troglodytic fortress hidden within the cliff, all testaments to distant human occupation.
Overlooking the village, the medieval Gourdon Castle tells over 10 centuries of history, with origins dating back to the Saracens (9th and 10th centuries). Its restoration in 1918 was carried out by Mrs. Moris, an American who saved it from certain abandonment.
The plateau, also popular with paragliders, offers a breathtaking panoramic view of the coast, located 1,000 meters below, provided the fog doesn’t interrupt the view.
Speleologists, on the other hand, regularly explore its caves, with the narrow entrance tunnel visible along the trail.

The Rives du Loup Park offers a beautiful walk through a preserved natural environment, featuring streams, forests, and cliffs. It’s an ideal place to recharge, connect with the stunning landscape, and discover exceptional wildlife and flora. However, it’s important to remember that our presence in this natural setting must be respectful of the environment.
Be sure to stay on the marked trails, avoid disturbing local wildlife, and leave no trace of your passage. All waste should be taken with you to preserve the purity of this area.
